The cheese market is strongly in development and just like with many other foodstuffs a split can be noticed. On one hand there is growth of the well known Gouda segment, on the other hand the demand for cheese specialties increases continuously.
The co-operative association Rouveen Kaasspecialiteiten focuses entirely to this last segment; products with an obvious added value. Innovation and versatility are features of which our company distinguishes itself from other cheese manufacturers in The Netherlands.
Rouveen follows its own strategy, has its own identity and therefore claims own position in the Dutch dairy industry. It is a co-operation of more than 250 involved cattle farmers, supplying on a daily basis the milk needed for the production of the many cheese specialities.
Rouveen Kaasspecialiteiten, since 2005 royal warrant holder, employs approx. 100 people and processes up to 135 million Kg. milk annually.
The different products manufactured in Rouveen and at Bio Kaas in Molenschot are perfectly complementary to one and other. Important market trends (health, enjoyment, variation) are the basis for a continuous search process for new cheese concepts. Usually both Rouveen Kaasspecialiteiten as Bio Kaas develop such new products in close cooperation with our partners/customers in the market. Often the expertise is used of our raw material or ingredient suppliers, or alternatively research institutes. Thanks to the ability to produce small production trials, new products are developed in an optimal way.
